Karen's Walk To Chicago: Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day

If I told you I'm walking 60 miles for 3 days to help women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive, would you support me?

One of those women could be your mother, your sister, your aunt, your friend, or even you. Would you support me?

I hope so. By supporting me, you are:
* allowing me the opportunity to become a participant in this great event
* furthering breast cancer research and early detection awareness
* gaining a tax deduction for your generosity
* coming along with me as I train and walk, through pictures and updates I will provide.

The Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Chicago begins on June 14th, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I'll make my way down through the suburbs of Northern Illinois. The route continues down the North Shore along Lake Michigan, and ends in downtown Chicago on June 16th.

From now until June 13th, I'll be training to be in the best condition I can. I'll be keeping this page updated as to what I'm doing and how I'm progressing.

If you've been to my other webpage (www.destinie.com), you'll know that this 3-Day walk isn't just about breast cancer, for me. I began a journey of a different type on July 1, 2000. This journey has been one of weight loss, and it's one I hope to never have to repeat in my lifetime. I'm taking on the Breast Cancer 3-Day not only to help further breast cancer awareness, but also to challenge myself, prove to myself that I can do this.

With your help, I can. And the completion of the 3-Day will be one of the best birthday and weight loss anniversary presents I could ever receive from you, and give to myself.

Thank you.
